Go Sober!

Right, all this toxic medicine has clearly affected me more than I ever thought possible and as a result I appear to have gone off the old vino! So I have decided to make something good come out of this disastrous occurrence and go on the wagon for October to raise some money for Macmillan Cancer.

Go Sober for October!

I would really appreciate it if you would kindly donate the price of a bottle of wine or the cost of a drink or two to this fantastic cause!

It was the first week at my new school.  I was at the high school!  Mam was off school.  I thought she was getting a week off school.  A few weeks later Mam and Dad sat us down in the living room and told us why Mam had been off work.  She said she had a lump in her boob so she went to the hospital and had some tests.  She found out it was a cancer lump!  I was shocked at the news.

Mam and Dad told us that Mam would get medicine that would make her better but ill at the same time.  Also she would lose all her hair, but it would be funny with a bald Mam.  I thought it would be funny and weird.  I wanted Mam to get a Hit Girl wig which is Kickass's sidekick.  The wig is purple.

When Mam went for her first treatment I knew it would be fine.  When Mam and Dad spent time at the hospital I stayed at my Grandma and Grandpa's house for a bit.  Mam didn't get ill she just got spots on her face.  After the treatment Mam still took us to school and picked us up, so nothing really changed.

Mam started to gently pull her hair out one day so she decided it was time to cut off her hair.  She felt a little bit worried and I was the same.  Me and Leo didn't want to watch so we played in the back garden to pass time.  Mam shouted for our attention and we came upstairs and she had shorter hair than mine.  She looked like my Uncle Andrew, her brother.  I thought it was funny.

Mam looked a little bit different in her wig.  She brought her wig to Grandma and Grandpa's house and Uncle Andrew suited it the most.  I think everyone has been brave and handled it well (especially Mam!!!).  I am not worried about thing to come because I have handled this well.
